1. Identity & NAP Consistency

5 steps

Write your business name the same way everywhere

The name must match letter for letter on Google, your website, social media, and directories. "Ahmet Auto Service" and "Ahmet Auto Service Ltd." count as different and confuse AI.

Write your address consistently (NAP)

Name, Address, Phone — the same format on every platform. Include the neighborhood, district, and city.

Settle on one primary phone number

If you have multiple numbers, feature one as primary and use it everywhere.

Keep business hours updated everywhere

ChatGPT and Gemini frequently answer "is this business open?" questions. Hours must match across GBP, your website, and schema.

State your category/sector clearly

A specific category like "Dental Clinic" or "Auto Showroom". AI responds more easily to precise categories than generic descriptions.

🧱

2. Structured Data (Schema.org)

6 steps

Add LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema

Add a @type: LocalBusiness schema to your website's <head> section. Fill in name, address, phone, hours, and description fields.

Add FAQPage schema (at least 5 questions)

Mark up questions your customers ask and their answers with FAQPage JSON-LD. AI engines use these questions directly as citations.

Add BreadcrumbList schema

A BreadcrumbList structure on every page helps AI engines understand your site hierarchy.

Use a sector-specific schema type

Restaurant → Restaurant, Clinic → MedicalClinic, Lawyer → LegalService. A specific type increases AI citation.

Add areaServed (service area)

Specify your service area in the schema so you can answer queries like "dental clinic in Kadıköy, Istanbul".

Validate your schema with Google's Rich Results Test

search.google.com/test/rich-results — no errors means you're ready for AI crawling too.

3. AI-Friendly Content

6 steps

Write a business description of at least 3 sentences

A clear paragraph covering what you do, who you serve, and where you are. AI engines use this text as a citation.

Build a Q&A-format FAQ page

Real questions like "How do I book an appointment?" or "How much does it cost?" Use the question as the H2 heading and the answer as the paragraph below it.

Use specific headings on service pages

Not "Dental Services" but concrete headings like "Implants, Root Canal Treatment, and Cosmetic Dentistry".

Write short, clear sentences

AI engines cite short, direct statements — not long paragraphs. One idea = one sentence.

Add a blog or content pages

At least 2 articles a month. Local and category-focused content like "How to choose the best implant clinic in Kadıköy".

Mention city and district names in your content

Geographic phrases like "auto service in Bağcılar, Istanbul" help you stand out in local AI queries.

4. Platforms & Profiles

5 steps

Set up and fill out your Google Business Profile (GBP)

Gemini looks directly at GBP. Fill in photos, services, hours, and description completely. The highest-impact step.

Register with Bing Places

ChatGPT and Copilot rely on the Bing index. bingplaces.com — create your profile there.

Register with sector directories

Sector directories build trust signals — booking sites for doctors, bar association listings for lawyers, review platforms for restaurants.

Update your social media profiles

Include your business name, city, and website link in your Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn bios. AI uses these profiles for identity verification.

Answer customer questions on GBP

Answer questions in Google's Q&A section. Unanswered questions can be read by AI as a signal of uncertainty.

5. Technical

3 steps

Allow AI crawlers in robots.txt

Add explicit Allow rules for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended. Without them, these crawlers can't read your site at all.

Add an llms.txt file

Publish a plain-text summary at /llms.txt with your category, services, key pages, and contact information for large language models.

Submit your sitemap.xml to Search Console

Submit sitemap.xml to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools so pages are indexed faster, indirectly speeding up AI visibility too.
